Sara, how exciting!! You're very lucky to have a hubby who buys you wonderful things for Mother's Day. I have a wonderful hubby too, but he's always said, "you're not MY mother!!". Kinda true I guess. Hmm, I wonder if my girls can afford a lens for their ol' Ma?

What kind of learning curve are you going through? I am so new to this dSLR stuff I find it difficult to wrap my head around it all. Things seemed so much easier back in my film SLR days. I am searching for a new lens too and can't decide what to get. I like the prospects of this one. I'm anxious to see more from you and this new lens!!

Wow!!!! That's a pretty cool mother's day gift girl!!!
I'm definitely double jealous now...that wide angle and now the long zoom....GOOD FOR YA! ;o)
The colors look so vivid on the last two day's shots. What did you do as PP?
On a different topic, I don't think I'll be posting this week either (don't like the topic) but I'll be checking out your 'experiments' with your new lens...and how did you end up leaving your parameters? I know I have mine set to increase saturation but don't think I increased the sharpness...your first two shots (on that post) seem a bit underexposed...was that because of the parameters or was the first shot w/o changing parameters and the 2nd shots with the 'changed' parameters?
OK, I'll stop asking questions now...
And just because you're my buddy, I'll tell ya that I ended up returning the lenses...(both of them) ...I just couldn't stay with the little itch of the 'what if'...KWIM?...Now I'll be buying the 24-70 2.8L that I wanted to begin with...CIAO!
